Privacy Policy

In short: GUL Music Player does not collect, store on our servers, sell or share any personal data. The app works fully offline and does not request internet access. It reads the audio files on your device only so it can play them. Your playlists, favourites and settings stay on your phone.
1. Who we are
GUL Music Player ("the app", package name com.anasdrive.GULplayer) is developed and published on Google Play by anasdrive ("we", "us", "our"). We are responsible for the app and for this website at gulplayer.anasdrive.com.
2. Scope of this policy
This policy explains how the GUL Music Player Android app and this website handle information. It applies to all versions of the app distributed through Google Play. By using the app you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
3. Information the app accesses
To work as a music player, the app needs to read some information on your device. All of this processing happens locally on your phone. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else.
Audio files and their details
The app uses Android's media library (MediaStore) to find audio files on your device. It reads each file's title, artist, album, duration, track number, date added, folder location and embedded album artwork. This is used only to show and play your music inside the app.
Settings and preferences stored on your device
The app saves the following in its private storage on your device:
- Playlists you create and songs you mark as favourites
- Your theme, accent colour and sort order
- Library filters, such as "Hide short clips", "Exclude Android folder" and the folders you hide
- Your last playback queue, song, position, shuffle and repeat mode, so you can resume where you left off
This information is identified only by internal song IDs and folder paths on your device. It is not linked to your identity, it is not backed up to our servers, and we cannot access it.
If you have turned on Android's own backup on your device, Android may include these settings in your personal device backup, which Google stores and manages under your Google account. We cannot access that backup.
Files you open with the app
If you choose "Open with GUL Music Player" for an audio file in another app, such as a file manager or messaging app, the app receives temporary permission to read that single file so it can play it.
4. Permissions we request

You can review or revoke these permissions at any time in your device's Settings › Apps › GUL Music Player › Permissions. If you revoke the music and audio permission, the app will not be able to show your library.
5. Information we do not collect
We do not collect, receive or process:
- Your name, email address, phone number or any account information (the app has no accounts or sign-in)
- Your location
- Contacts, photos, videos, messages or files other than the audio files described above
- Device identifiers, advertising ID or IP address
- Usage analytics, listening history or crash data sent to us
- Payment information (the app is free and has no in-app purchases)
The app contains no advertising, no analytics SDKs and no third-party tracking. It does not request the INTERNET permission.
6. Sharing and disclosure
Because we do not collect personal data, we have nothing to sell, rent, trade or share with third parties.
If you use the app's Share feature, you choose another app (for example a messaging app), and Android passes the selected audio file or text to it. That app's own privacy policy then applies. We do not receive a copy.
7. Third-party services
- Google Play. The app is distributed through Google Play. Google may collect information about downloads, installs and, if you have enabled it on your device, crash and performance diagnostics (Android vitals), under the Google Privacy Policy. We only see aggregated, anonymous statistics in the Google Play Console.
- Email. If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use this only to reply to you. See section 9.
- Links. The app's settings contain links to this website, the Google Play listing and your email app. These open outside the app, in your browser or another app, under that service's own privacy terms.
8. This website
gulplayer.anasdrive.com is a static information site. It does not use cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and its fonts are hosted on our own server, so your browser makes no requests to third parties. Like all web servers, our hosting provider may automatically record standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, page requested, date and time) for security and to keep the site running. These logs are not used to identify you and are kept only for a limited period, as set by our hosting provider.
9. Data retention and deletion
- In-app data (playlists, favourites, settings, last-played position) stays on your device until you delete it. You can remove it at any time by going to Settings › Apps › GUL Music Player › Storage › Clear data, or by uninstalling the app. We cannot recover it for you, because we never had a copy.
- Your music files are never modified, moved, uploaded or deleted by the app. Hiding a folder only removes it from the app's library view.
- Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable record-keeping period afterwards. You can ask us to delete your correspondence at any time.
10. Security
All app data is stored in the app's private storage area, which Android protects from other apps. Because the app has no network access and we do not operate servers that hold user data, there is no transfer of your data that could be intercepted. No method of electronic storage is perfectly secure, but we design the app to minimise any risk.
11. Children's privacy
GUL Music Player is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Since the app collects no personal data, no information from children is gathered. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) or Pakistan's applicable data protection laws. These can include the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data. Because the app does not collect personal data, there is normally nothing for us to provide or delete. For any personal data you have sent us by email, you can use these rights by contacting us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.
We do not sell or "share" personal information as defined by the CCPA, and we do not use personal data for profiling or automated decision-making.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add new features. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how information is handled, we will also tell you through the app's Google Play release notes. Please review this page periodically.
